Who we are

International Islamic Youth League (IIYL)

International Islamic Youth League IIYL was founded on 1st January 1991 by inspirational young people from Africa, Europe, Middle East and Asia countries to promote voluntarism, solidarity, peace and development it is a global humanitarian non-governmental, non-profit-making, and charitable organization focused on fighting poverty and achieving social justice, with a strong emphasis on empowering women and girls. We work in numerous countries, including Sierra Leone, Liberia, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Ghana, Mali, Chad, Gambia, Niger, Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Benin, Togo, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Uganda, Sudan and Democratic Republic of the Congo where we have been operating for over 25 years, implementing programs in health, food security, and education. IIYL prioritizes rural and at-risk communities, particularly women, in their work. Thus our organization is registered with respective line ministries, departments and government agencies wherever activities are undertaken as well as building partnership with other stakeholders

We are experience institution in humanities and disaster response, refugee, returnees and internally displaced people protection care and maintenance and sustainable development with the necessary expertise and resources to save lives and human capital building.

What we do

International Islamic Youth League works to defeat poverty and achieve social justice by focusing on women and girls, providing life-saving assistance during disasters, and implementing long-term programs for sustainable change. Our aim to create a world where poverty is overcome and all people live with dignity and security

Saving lives and providing humanitarian aid:

IIYL responds to emergencies like natural disasters and conflicts, offering immediate relief and working to help communities rebuild.

Long-term development programs:

IIYL partners with communities to address the root causes of poverty through initiatives focused on women’s empowerment, sustainable agriculture, education, health, and climate change adaptation.

Focus on women and girls:

IIYL recognizes that women and girls are disproportionately affected by poverty and that empowering them is crucial for sustainable development.

Promoting social justice:

IIYL advocates for policy changes and works to create a more equitable and just world for all.

Data and accountability:

IIYL is developing initiatives to incorporate citizen-generated data into monitoring systems for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), enhancing transparency and accountability for all.
